India, March 15 -- Singer-rapper Badshah has received a death threat from members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, days after he faced backlash over his new song 'Tateeree' for allegedly featuring objectionable lyrics targeting women and minors, media reports said.

In a purported Facebook post, gang members threatened to "shoot him in his forehead", stating:

The post was signed by Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit, who claimed responsibility for a recent firing incident outside a Western Union office in Panipat, allegedly targeting people involved in Hawala operations.

The post warned others engaged in such operations of "dire consequences" if they did not stop.
