India, Sept. 30 -- India continued its gold rush in archery as Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav defeated South Korea 158-157 in a thrilling shoot-off to win the compound mixed team gold medal at the Asian Games on Wednesday.

The closely fought final went into a shoot-off, with the Indian pair holding their nerve to edge past their South Korean opponents and claim the gold.

It was India's second gold medal in compound archery at the ongoing Games.

Earlier, the Indian pair defeated Thailand 156-155 to book their place in the final.

The victory also secured India a qualification quota for the compound mixed team event at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
