India, May 3 -- A man and a woman were found dead after an explosion tore through a house in Bristol, UK, on Sunday morning, police said.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that emergency services were called to a residential property on Sterncourt Road at around 6:30 am following reports of a blast. Officers have described the incident as suspicious, and a major incident has been declared.

Police said specialist teams are working under established emergency response procedures as investigations get underway.
