India, Feb. 24 -- Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested Indian Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib after several rounds of questioning in connection with the shirtless protest staged at Bharat Mandapam during the recently held India AI Impact Summit 2026, an event attended by global leaders and technology executives.
Chib has been booked on charges including criminal conspiracy, voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant, obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duty, and wilful disobedience, according to media reports.
Confirming the arrest, Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil wrote on X: "After being questioned for more than 20 hours, Delhi Police arrested @UdayBhanuIYC at 4 am. We are proud of Uday and the IYC warriors. ...
