India, Sept. 15 -- Saudi Arabia has reportedly sought intelligence assistance from Israel through the US Central Command (CENTCOM) as the kingdom faces mounting security and economic pressure following a major Houthi offensive in Yemen.

The reported outreach comes despite the absence of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel and Riyadh's longstanding refusal to formally recognise Israel as an independent state.

According to Tel Aviv-based The Jerusalem Post, Saudi Arabia and Israel held discussions, mediated by CENTCOM, over intelligence support aimed at helping Riyadh respond to threats posed by Houthi militants.
