India, Sept. 29 -- A Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber crashed during a training flight in the Far Eastern Amur region on Tuesday, killing six of the seven crew members on board, Russia's Defence Ministry said.

The aircraft crashed minutes after takeoff in an uninhabited area of the region, according to the ministry.

Six crew members dead, one survives

The Defence Ministry said one crew member survived the crash and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The condition of the survivor was not immediately disclosed.

The ministry said the aircraft was carrying no ammunition during the training flight.
