India, Sept. 4 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday claimed that Russia launched jet-powered "Shahed" drones while Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was visiting Kyiv, alleging that the drones were developed with Iranian assistance.

"Today, when the minister was with us in Kyiv, Russia once again launched jet-powered 'Shaheds,' which were not created without Iran's assistance. Thanks to our combat aviation, the delegation was safe, because it is Ukrainian fighters that shoot down the majority of such drones," Zelenskyy wrote on X.

Following his meeting with Jaishankar, Zelenskyy said he was grateful to India for its commitment to efforts aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
