India, Sept. 8 -- Russia targeted Ukraine's capital Kyiv with missiles and drones on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring 16 others, according to media reports.

The attacks came a day after US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited the region for peace talks.

Explosions were heard across Kyiv early Tuesday local time, according to a CNN reporter in the Ukrainian capital, signalling the end of an agreed three-day halt to attacks during the US envoys' visits to the capitals of both countries.

The attack involved ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones, CNN reported, citing Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.
