Mumbai/IBNS, April 16 -- The Indian currency edged higher on Thursday, with the rupee gaining 9 paise against the US dollar, according to media reports.

However, the upside remained limited due to sustained demand for the US dollar amid hopes of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Crude oil prices slipping below $95 per barrel added to the positive momentum, supported by multiple favourable global and domestic cues.
