Arlington/IBNS, July 7 -- Cristiano Ronaldo's dream of lifting the FIFA World Cup appears to have ended as Portugal crashed out of the tournament following a 1-0 defeat to Spain national football team at Dallas Stadium on Monday.

Ronaldo was left emotional at the final whistle after Mikel Merino scored a late winner to send Spain into the quarter-finals.
