Kolkata/IBNS, March 30 -- The death of Bengali actor Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee by drowning at Talsari Beach has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry, with Odisha Police revealing that no permission had been obtained for the shoot where the mishap occurred on Sunday, media reports said.

According to police, the incident took place around 5:30 pm when Rahul and his co-actor Sweta Mishra were dancing in knee-deep seawater and suddenly fell into a ditch.

While Sweta escaped unharmed, Rahul was rushed to Digha State General Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
