India, May 22 -- Punjab Police have busted a suspected espionage network in Pathankot after arresting a man accused of sharing sensitive information about the Indian Army and paramilitary movements with handlers based in Pakistan.

The accused has been identified as Baljit Singh alias Bittu, a resident of Chakk Dhariwal village.

According to police, Singh had allegedly installed a CCTV camera at a shop near a bridge along the Pathankot-Jammu stretch of National Highway-44 to monitor the movement of security forces.

The surveillance footage was then electronically transmitted to operatives in Pakistan and other foreign locations.
