Prashant Kishor eyes historic victory in BJP stronghold Bankipur, extends lead to comfortable margin
Patna/IBNS, Aug. 3 -- Former political strategist and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) chief Prashant Kishor is on course to script history in Bihar's Bankipur Assembly by-election, extending his lead to over 11,000 votes in a constituency long considered a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bastion.
The by-election was necessitated after BJP national president Nitin Nabin resigned from the Assembly following his election to the Rajya Sabha.
While Kishor remains firmly in the lead, BJP's Neeraj Kumar is in second place and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rekha Kumari trails in a distant third, according to the latest counting trends.
