New Delhi/IBNS, July 2 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met visiting Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at Hyderabad House after she was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital.

Sharing glimpses of the bilateral meeting on X, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote: "Taking forward a partnership anchored in trust, shared values and strategic convergence. PM @narendramodi warmly received Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan at the Hyderabad House today."

Takaichi is on a three-day official visit to India from July 1 to 3, marking her first trip to the country since taking office.
