India, Feb. 27 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Saturday to inaugurate the Semiconductor Assembly, Test and Packaging (ATMP) facility of Micron Semiconductor Technology India Private Limited in Sanand.

Why the factory is significant

The inauguration marks a major milestone in India's semiconductor manufacturing journey, as the Sanand ATMP facility begins commercial production and ships its first made-in-India semiconductor memory modules.

The development is seen as a crucial step in strengthening India's position in the global semiconductor value chain.
