India, Sept. 27 -- Suspected terrorists allegedly abducted 13 people on Friday in the mountainous Hathikhel area of Pakistan's Wazir subdivision, media reports said.

Local sources told Dawn that the group stopped the people while they were transporting their belongings in vehicles as they attempted to leave the area.

Local police have not issued an official statement confirming the incident.

A photograph purportedly showing the alleged hostages has also circulated online. The image appears to show Nasir, alias Gidarh, a local commander of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Dawn reported.
