India, March 27 -- At least two police officials in Pakistan have been arrested on murder charges after a man was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside the Industrial Area police chowki in Lahore, media reports said.

Following the incident, the entire staff of the police post was suspended after the body was recovered on Thursday. Authorities initiated action based on a preliminary inquiry, which reportedly held the policemen responsible for criminal negligence, according to Dawn News.

The deceased was identified as Iftikhar (50). He had reportedly been taken into custody by the chowki in-charge, Sub-Inspector Ishaq, after he visited Sadhoki village allegedly to meet a girl.
