India, Aug. 8 -- OpenAI has removed limits on text-based chats for ChatGPT users, in a major update that will particularly benefit those accessing the AI platform without a paid subscription.

"For Plus and Pro users, we're updating GPT-5.6 Sol in Chat to be more reliable with facts and provide more focused answers. A new slider lets you choose how much thought ChatGPT puts into each response," OpenAI said in a statement published recently.

For Free users, OpenAI said it is updating the default model to GPT-5.6 Luna and expanding access to unlimited text chats.

OpenAI said that 1 billion people turn to ChatGPT every week, underscoring the platform's growing role in helping users find answers and solutions to a wide range of queries.
