No more cash in Uzbekistan? Indians can now pay using UPI across the country
India, Aug. 31 -- NPCI International Payments Ltd. (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has entered into a commercial agreement with the National Interbank Processing Centre JSC (NIPC), operator of Uzbekistan's national payment system, HUMO.
The partnership will enable Indian travellers to scan Uzbekistan's national interoperable QR code, UZQR, using their familiar UPI-enabled applications and make instant merchant payments across the country.
The agreement was announced during the Prime Minister of India's bilateral visit to Uzbekistan.
