Mumbai/IBNS, Aug. 12 -- At least six people were killed after a landslide struck Mumbai's Kurla area in the early hours of Wednesday, media reports said.

Specialised victim detection cameras are being used to identify any signs of life beneath the debris.

According to information shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade, the incident occurred at around 3:48 am on Wednesday, NDTV reported.

A Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) was quoted by NDTV as saying that emergency response teams and local authorities were continuing rescue operations.

The bodies of those killed have been sent to a hospital for further procedures, the DCP said.
