India, Sept. 13 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping offered to help find a solution to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war during their meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, the Kremlin confirmed on Sunday.

Putin welcomed their readiness and briefed the two leaders in detail on the situation surrounding the Ukraine conflict, Peskov added.

During his bilateral meeting with Putin on Friday, Modi reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy were the way forward to resolving conflicts.

His remarks assume significance amid the escalation in fighting between Russia and Ukraine in recent weeks.
