Middle East on Edge: Iran fires missiles at Israel for first time since ceasefire, Tel Aviv responds
India, June 8 -- Iran on Sunday launched a volley of missiles at Israel for the first time in nearly two months, putting a fragile ceasefire under renewed strain and raising concerns of a wider regional conflict.
The latest exchange has heightened fears of fresh fighting and further escalation in the Middle East, even as efforts are underway to secure a deal aimed at ending the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict that began on February 28.
According to The Times of Israel, around 10 missiles were fired toward northern Israel in quick succession at approximately 10 p.m. local time. No injuries were reported.
