Chennai/IBNS, Aug. 12 -- An IndiGo flight en route from Kolkata to Chennai suffered an engine failure shortly before landing, triggering a scare before the aircraft landed safely at its destination on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The flight was scheduled to land at around 11:30 pm.

The pilot alerted air traffic control after noticing that the aircraft's left engine had failed shortly before landing.

The aircraft landed safely at 11:37 pm on Runway 25, with all passengers and crew onboard safe.
