India, Sept. 29 -- Manchester City has been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations over a nine-season period, in a landmark ruling that could have major consequences for the English champions.

The Premier League said on Tuesday that an independent commission found City guilty of all charges relating to serious financial violations and found the club guilty on the majority of allegations concerning its failure to cooperate with the league's investigation.

The case, which was launched more than three years ago, dates back to allegations that emerged in 2018 following leaked club emails and documents.
