Kolkata/IBNS, March 17 -- West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee will on Tuesday announce her party's list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The announcement comes a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) challenged Banerjee by fielding her arch-rival Suvendu Adhikari from her current constituency, Bhabanipur, a cosmopolitan part of the city.

Adhikari, who is also the Leader of Opposition, will additionally contest from his existing constituency, Nandigram, where he had defeated Banerjee in the 2021 Assembly elections.

Following her defeat in Nandigram, Banerjee had contested from her home turf Bhabanipur, winning the bypoll to continue as Chief Minister.
