India, April 18 -- Malayalam actor Siddharth Venugopal passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness at the age of 41, media reports said.

He had been battling cancer.

Actor Seema G. Nair confirmed the news in a Facebook post.

Actor Kishor Satya also mourned Venugopal's demise.

"Prayers for eternal peace to Siddharth's soul...," Satya wrote on Facebook.

Venugopal was a Malayalam television actor known for his work in serials, where he became a familiar face among audiences for his natural performances and screen presence.
