Dhaka/IBNS, Feb. 23 -- Bangladesh has initiated a far-reaching reshuffle of its senior military leadership, reassigning key operational and intelligence roles days after Tarique Rahman assumed office as Prime Minister.
The changes also extend beyond domestic command structures, affecting Bangladesh's military representation in India at a sensitive juncture in bilateral defence engagement.
Under orders issued by Army Headquarters on Sunday, Brigadier General Md Hafizur Rahman, currently serving as Bangladesh's defence adviser in India, has been promoted to the rank of major general and directed to return home.
