India, May 3 -- A Pokemon-themed promotional event in Seoul was abruptly cancelled after an estimated 40,000 people gathered at Seoul Forest in the Seongsu-dong area, triggering serious safety concerns.

The cancellation came amid heightened caution on South Korea's first Labour Day observed as an official public holiday, with authorities prioritising crowd control and public safety.
