Hefei/Kolkata/IBNS, Aug. 8 -- City based Sagnik Roy and Sayantan Kushari made India proud bagging the gold in the Under 31 pairs final of 9th World Youth Transnational Bridge Championship held at Hefei, China on Saturday, according to Bridge Federation of India secretary Debasish Ray.

This is the first time that India earned a gold medal in any World Bridge Championship event.

Croatia took the second spot with 357.78 MPs while China finished third scoring 335.92 MPs.

Sagnik and Sayantan, who honed their skill in the mind game while they were at the CBC Bridge Academy here, have represented the country several times in the past.
