Mumbai/IBNS, March 30 -- The Dubai leg of shooting for King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been cancelled amid the ongoing Iran war, Mid-Day reported.

The production team had already secured permissions for a week-long schedule beginning April 9, but the plan was dropped due to safety concerns for the cast and crew.

The sequence will now be recreated at a studio in Mumbai, where the production design team has built an artificial desert set in Vile Parle.

The high-octane action entertainer also stars Deepika Padukone, reuniting with Khan for the sixth time. The film additionally features Suhana Khan-who debuted in The Archies-and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles.

King is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
