India, July 28 -- The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has hit back sharply at BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut over her controversial "Generation Gutter" remarks, saying she lacks seriousness as a politician and alleging that even members of her own party do not take her seriously.

The fresh war of words comes days after Ranaut criticised the language and conduct of students who participated in the CJP-led protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and elsewhere across the country.

Kangana's remarks spark backlash

In an Instagram post on Monday, the Mandi MP described the protesters' language as "puke-inducing" and "crass" and questioned their upbringing.
