India, June 29 -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday said it has eliminated Islamic Jihad operative Zaher Brahim Khalil Abu Salem, who allegedly infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 attack.

In a post on X, the IDF stated: "ELIMINATED: Zaher Brahim Khalil Abu Salem, an Islamic Jihad military operative who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 Massacre."

The military further alleged that Abu Salem participated in the abduction of Israeli civilians from their homes and was involved in holding them hostage. It added that he also attempted to plan and advance multiple attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
