India, May 4 -- The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) appears to be making a strong political comeback in Kerala, leading in 82 seats as counting of votes for the Assembly elections is underway.
The CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF), which has been in power under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the past two terms, is currently ahead in 45 seats, indicating a possible shift in the state's political landscape. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 3 constituencies.
Notably, the alliance is performing well even in Left-dominated regions including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kozhikode and Palakkad.
