India, March 29 -- Tensions escalated further in the Middle East after Iran claimed it had carried out missile and drone strikes on alleged US military "hideouts" in Dubai, a claim swiftly denied by American officials, media reports said.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the attacks targeted locations housing more than 500 US personnel, adding that ambulances in Dubai were engaged for hours transporting the dead and wounded.

The statement also warned that the region could become a "graveyard" for American troops if hostilities continue.
