India, May 19 -- An official posted at the Indian High Commission in Chattogram, Bangladesh, was found dead inside the mission premises on Tuesday morning, prompting an investigation.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Naren Dhar, who served as an Assistant Protocol Officer at the Indian mission in Bangladesh.

According to reports in Bangladeshi media, Dhar's body was discovered in front of a bathroom door on the second floor of a data entry room inside the old visa centre building located within the mission premises.
