India-Malaysia ties get a boost! Modi, Anwar Ibrahim discuss trade, defence, semiconductors
India, Sept. 12 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on Saturday, with the two leaders reviewing progress in bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The discussions covered trade and investment, defence and security, semiconductors, infrastructure, the digital economy, energy, fintech, education, tourism and people-to-people ties.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed Malaysia's concurrence with the establishment of an Indian Consulate General in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Prime Minister Modi appreciated Malaysia's continued support in strengthening ASEAN-India relations.
