India, Aug. 21 -- India advanced to the next round of the Women's World Cup after securing a crucial 0-0 draw against England on Thursday, a result that was enough to seal their progression.
The Indian defence stood firm against sustained English pressure, with England dominating possession and creating several opportunities. However, the British side failed to convert their penalty corners, allowing India to hold on for a valuable point.
With the draw, India finished second in Pool D with five points, behind China, who topped the group with seven points.
