India, June 12 -- India's first Made-in-India C-295 military transport aircraft has successfully completed its maiden flight, marking a significant milestone in the country's efforts to strengthen indigenous defence manufacturing.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) announced the achievement on Wednesday, congratulating the entire team involved in the development and flight testing of the aircraft.

"The achievement reinforces India's growing aerospace capabilities and underscores the Indian Air Force's commitment to fostering indigenous defence capability under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat," the IAF said.
