India, Oct. 16 -- India has exported its maiden consignment of organic Palmyra Jaggery Powder to Bulgaria, marking a significant step towards expanding international markets for the country's traditional agricultural products.

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, facilitated the flag-off of the 1.755-metric-tonne consignment from Gobichettipalayam in Tamil Nadu's Erode district to Varna, Bulgaria, on October 15, 2026.

The product, also known as Palmyra Blossom Nectar, is certified under India's National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and European Union (EU) organic standards.
