New Delhi/IBNS, Sept. 15 -- India on Tuesday dismissed Pakistan's reported decision to raise the bounty for information leading to the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) describing the move as a "gimmick" and a "phoney announcement".

Responding to questions during the ministry's regular media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan needed to take meaningful action against terrorism rather than make announcements that India said carried little consequence.
