In a post on X, May 18 -- OpenAI chief executive officer Sam Altman on Sunday said Indian users have generated more than one billion images using ChatGPT 2.0, highlighting the platform's growing popularity in the country.

"ChatGPT Images 2.0 India."

Praising the response from Indian users, he added: "Already more than 1 billion images created there; awesome to see."

The milestone underscores India's rapid adoption of artificial intelligence tools, with OpenAI earlier revealing that the country is now home to more than 100 million weekly ChatGPT users, ranging from students and teachers to developers and entrepreneurs.
