New Delhi/IBNS, May 4 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday surprised party workers by arriving at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the national capital dressed in traditional Bengali attire, as the party celebrated its maiden victory in West Bengal.
Modi greeted supporters while the BJP's Bengal campaign song "Paltano Dorkar" played in the background.
Earlier, in a post on X, the Prime Minister thanked party workers for what he described as a historic win in a state the BJP had never governed before.
According to trends, the BJP is leading in over 200 seats across the state, while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is trailing with around 80 seats.
