London/IBNS, Oct. 27 -- England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane won the 2026 Men's Ballon d'Or on Monday, becoming the first Englishman to receive football's prestigious individual honour since Michael Owen in 2001.

Kane finished ahead of French forward Kylian Mbappe and Spanish youngster Lamine Yamal in the voting.

Kane became the first Bayern Munich player to receive the prestigious honour since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who won it in 1980 and 1981, the club said in a statement.
