Kolkata/IBNS, Oct. 12 -- Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, launched 'Shreyas', the third of four Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels (NGOPVs) being built by the shipyard for the Indian Navy, at its Rishi Bankim Shipyard on Saturday.

The launch was conducted with traditional rituals and the chanting of Vedic shlokas.

The Sanskrit name 'Shreyas' signifies auspiciousness and the path towards the highest good.
