India, Aug. 31 -- At least one person has died and around 15 others are feared missing after a flash flood swept through the Grand Canyon in the US on Saturday, August 29.

According to local media reports, the flash flood destroyed footbridges and forced the evacuation of a large number of campers and hikers from the affected areas.

In a Facebook post, Grand Canyon National Park said recovery operations had been completed for a 46-year-old man near Crystal Rapids along the Colorado River.

In a separate statement, authorities appealed to the public for information about approximately 15 people who may be missing or unaccounted for following the significant flash-flood event in Bright Angel Canyon and the Phantom Ranch area on August 29....
