India, Sept. 27 -- Search engine giant Google on Sunday celebrated its 28th anniversary with a colourful doodle on its homepage, taking internet users on a nostalgic trip down memory lane by featuring an early version of its iconic logo.

Sharing details about the doodle, Google said: "This Doodle celebrates Google's 28th birthday! Today's artwork features a nostalgic logo from Google's early days. Learn more about Google's history, culture, and famous moments in our birthday trivia quiz!"

According to Google's official website, the company's story began in 1995 at Stanford University. Larry Page was considering Stanford for graduate school when Sergey Brin, who was a student there, was assigned to show him around.
