India, June 29 -- At least five people died in a shooting incident in Stade city in Germany on Monday, media reports said.

The Luneburg Police Department issued an alert on X, urging the public to avoid the area. "A police operation is currently taking place in Stade. Avoid the area widely," the statement read.

Police said two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including one suspect. A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests to the BBC.

A large number of security personnel have been deployed at the scene as investigations continue.
