Kolkata/IBNS, June 8 -- The crackdown on Trinamool Congress leaders following the West Bengal Assembly elections intensified on Monday with the arrest of controversial party leader Jahangir Khan, according to media reports.
Jahangir, considered a close aide of Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, was arrested by the West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) in connection with multiple FIRs involving allegations of electoral malpractice, including tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the Assembly elections in the Falta constituency, where he was the party's candidate.
