India, Sept. 13 -- A former Air India pilot was found dead inside a room at a five-star hotel in Delhi's upscale Vasant Kunj area, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sunny Asaldekar, a flight captain who had checked into The Grand hotel on September 10.

He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him "brought dead."

Brother alerted hotel manager

According to police, Asaldekar's brother contacted the hotel manager the following day after the pilot stopped responding to his phone calls.

The manager opened the room using a master key and found Asaldekar unresponsive inside. He was subsequently taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
