New Delhi/IBNS, May 22 -- The abrupt rise in followers of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical online campaign triggered by controversial remarks from Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, has raised questions and suspicion after several supporters were reportedly traced to countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Turkey.

The online campaign, which currently has no organisational presence on the ground, rapidly gained traction on social media and even surpassed the follower count of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), prompting speculation over whether the movement could evolve into a broader political force challenging the BJP.
